What Yohimbe Is
Yohimbe is referred to as an alkaloid that has both stimulant and aphrodisiac properties. This means that in addition to increasing your overall level of stimulation in the body (much as other stimulatory products such as caffeine do), it’s also going to help boost your libido.
While obviously this isn’t much concern with regards to fat loss, it should be noted that those who are approaching very low body fat levels do often struggle with low libido levels, so using yohimbe with their diet plan can help to offset this.
This product comes from the bark of a tree that hails from West Africa and is converted from yohimbe to yohimbine in the blood stream.
It also can offer antioxidant support to users, so could potentially help to fend off free radical damage that you may be experiencing as you go about your day.
How Yohimbe Helps With Fat Loss
Now in terms of fat loss, what yohimbe does that tends to be especially useful is that it will increase the blood flow throughout the body, helping you mobilize fatty acids better. High levels of blood flow are required for proper fatty acid release to occur and in some areas of the body natural blood flow does tend to be quite low and when this is the case, the fat is extremely difficult to remove.
This most often occurs in the lower body for females and the love handle region for males.
Using Yohimbe Properly
So if you’ve decided that you are going to incorporate yohimbe into your program, how do you do so effectively?
Ideally you’ll want to take it before an exercise session, especially one that involves working the area of the body where you have this excess fat storage.
Since working that area will also help to increase the blood flow to those fat stores, when you add the yohimbe to this it increases the fat burning process even further.
Taking it before a cardio workout for example can be much more effective for fat burning purposes as opposed to performing cardio without it.
So there you have some background information on yohimbe. It may not give you quite the mental and energy boost that some other stimulants will give you, but it’s still definitely very effective as far as total fat loss results are concerned.
