As you go about your 8 pack ab diet plan, one thing that you might come to consider at some point or another is the idea of competing in a fitness event.
You’ve been working incredibly hard and because of this effort, are noticing yourself getting leaner and leaner each day.
This might lead you to wonder whether you should consider doing a fitness competition or show to broad cast your hard work.
But, before you dive in and do just that, there are some important things that you must make sure you keep in the back of your mind. Doing so will ensure that you are making the right decision that’s going to be best for you.
The Costs Involved
The very first thing that you must take note of is the costs that are involved with the process. Competing in a fitness content isn’t exactly a ‘cost effective’ process as you’ll have coaching fees, entry fees, supplement fees, and so on.
If you are someone who is on a tight budget, this sport likely isn’t for you. It will add up over time so you need to be prepared for this going in.
The Contest Diet
The second thing that you’ll need to think about is the contest diet. Contest dieting and regular dieting are two entirely different things so if you’re not someone who can handle very extreme approaches, again, you might want to reconsider.
When you’re getting ready for a contest your calories will come down to very extreme lows and you’ll start to play around with things such as dehydration to get that extra leanness that you need.
This will be very hard on the body and something you’ll have to be able to physically push through.
The Additional Training Time
Also keep in mind that with contest training will come additional gym session requirements. Not only will you likely find yourself doing more total cardio sessions overall, but you’re also likely going to find yourself being required to do posing sessions and possibly routine sessions depending on the event you choose to do.
If you’re already struggling to make it to your regular gym sessions, you can imagine how this is going to be a problem.
The Mental Factors
Finally, last but not least you have the mental factors. This includes being able to have the mental tenacity to push through those workouts when you’re tired and say no to food even though your stomach is absolutely crying out.
Some people are able to do this with ease while others are going to really struggle. Competing in bodybuilding or fitness is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do from a mental standpoint, so something that must not be overlooked.
So there you have some of the main things to keep in mind regarding competing in a fitness or bodybuilding event. If you are cut out for it, it can be an incredibly enjoyable experience, but if you aren’t, you’re in for a rough road ahead.
